Christmas Traditions

Every Christmas season my family likes to take a ride to Pennsylvania Lehigh Valley Region.  There is so much to do there during the holiday season.

Each year we visit the town of Bethlehem and Christkindlmarkt.  There are many vendors from small businesses who sell handcrafted items.  It is so pretty walking around and seeing all of the items.  We also love watching the ice carver and his masterpieces.

This year I got to enjoy the Gingerbread house competition at the Artsquest Center.  There were such beautiful houses on display.

The town of Bethlehem itself is quaint.  The main attraction is the Hotel Bethlehem with its extravagant windows which are beautifully decorated with the most ornate Christmas trees.

At night we love to watch the Steel Stacks light display.  Christmas music and beautiful lights create a wonderful atmosphere as we sit around the bonfire drinking hot cocoa.

Another yearly visit we love to take is to Koziar's Christmas Village.  I can remember our first  trip there when our son was little.  As we came over the hill on the dark road, all of a sudden a beautiful display of thousands of Christmas lights appeared.  My son's face lit up and a huge smile came across his wind kissed face.  He was so joyful as we walked along the lit paths of Christmas displays and lights.  He loved the buildings we stopped at along the path.  He especially loved visiting Santa and having his picture taken.

Half Off Tix to Koziar’s Christmas Village (Sun to Thurs)

Our trip always follows up with putting our tree up.  We get so filled with Christmas spirit by being together as a family and enjoying the simple lights and music and nostalgia of the season.

What are some of your Christmas traditions?
